“Sarria” is the minimum starting point required to achieve the “Compostela”, which is the title awarded by the Cathedral of Santiago to those who have covered at last one hundred kilometres of the “Camino de Santiago”, either on foot, on horseback (or 200 km by bike). “Sarria” is a very attractive stage which runs through paths and tracks in a good state. Sarria’s surrounding area is characterized by the luxuriance of its forests. The green colour, identified with the trees and the pastures, can be spotted in the valleys and hills nearby. The river flowing through the territory, complete the rural landscape of the County. The “route of mills” is a 6km long hiking route, leaving from the village and running up the surroundings of “Sarria” River. We will find a multitude of species bound to river banks and to forest where birds of prey nest.
